Hi everyone,

 

Firstly, a word about the trailer (TV advert) which I linked to on Monday, for anyone who decided it would spoil things for them to watch it. Eight episodes further on it ought to be clear now that there IS a wedding (Chas's) booked for the anniversary week. I will now confirm, then, that the trailer does NOT hint at anybody giving birth, nor does it show Debbie in a wedding dress (though that doesn't necessarily mean Cameron doesn't arrange a surprise wedding). The only potential spoiler left in the trailer now is whether or not Katie is in a wedding dress. You'll have seen today that Katie wants to bring her wedding forward to the same date as Chas's. The trailer will reveal whether or not this plan goes ahead.

 

Today's video's are on the theme of "The story so far". They're similar to the first part of the "Story teaser" video, but this time there's five videos each focusing on one group of characters.

 

Anyone who still wants to avoid watching the trailer, should avoid the video with Chas and Katie, as it includes footage from the trailer. Apart from that, if you're definition of a spoiler is "something I haven't seen", then these videos are 99% safe. There are a couple of brief clips that you won't see until Monday (in the Carl and Declan videos), but they don't really reveal anything, so aren't really spoilers in that sense. These videos are purely there to refresh memories of storylines (going back to before christmas), and to get people excited for anniversary week, which starts on Wednesday.

In relation to recent points, the picture of Chas and Cameron wasn't taken by Angelica. It was taken when they went on their weekend away. Chas must have taken it herself with an outstretched arm! 

 

Chas never found out about Carl killing Tom. Guilt ridden, he ended the relationship instead rather than tell her. (The only people ever to find out are Jimmy, Matthew (now dead), DCI Grace Barraclough (also dead) Carrie Nicholls (in Canada) and Lexi King (also in Canada, I think).)

 

Speaking of the fire at Tennant House (Rachel's new home), that was actually the big storyline to celebrate Emmerdale's 35th birthday.

 

As for Debbie, she's always been criticised a lot here in the UK too for hardly ever smiling, and some people end up criticising Charley Webb in the process. Of course, Charley can (or could - I definitely can't confirm if she's still in the programme) only work with the material that is written for her, which is rarely "happy jolly" stuff, so I think she does a pretty good job. I agree also that Sophia has been great as Sarah. It's such a big storyline for a seven year old to deal with. Emmerdale has its faults of course, but I think the acting is rarely one of them. :)
